Fits metal parts or sections together to fabricate structural steel, tanks, plate and tube, heat exchangers, piping and other heavy metal products and all associated pressure related equipment. Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join and shape metal parts.
Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment. Repairing worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers. Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machine to fabricate or repair metal parts. Operate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes indentations and seams of metal articles with solder Create ideas and perform techniques on how to extract broken bolts and parts to the distinguish threads and surfaces. May adjust welding heads & tooling according to work specifications. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
